Tac Con 3MR trigger assembly for an AR-15 with an 3 Position safety selector is compatible with weapons using AR-15 small pin .154″ mil-spec style fire control groups. The Tac-Con 3MR is a drop-in 3-mode fire control system with Safe, Semi-Automatic, and Tac-Con’s patented 3rd Mode. The 3rd mode has a positive reset that dramatically reduces the split times between shots. The positive reset characteristic is achieved by transferring the force from the bolt carrier through the trigger assembly to assist the trigger back onto the front sear. As a result, this gives the firearm the fastest reset possible. Both semi and 3rd mode positions exhibit a non-adjustable 4.5 pound trigger pull weight.

WHAT IS REQUIRED FOR THE TAC CON 3MR AR TRIGGER FOR IT TO RUN PROPERLY?

A mil-spec lower with an M16 bolt carrier group (BCG) and a standard H2 or H3 buffer are required for the proper operation of the Tac-Con 3MR trigger.

Relentless Triggers assumes no liability for any legal action brought against the owner, seller, purchaser, or user of the Tac-Con 3MR trigger. Any legality questions you have regarding the laws about the purchase of this product in your state should be directed to a licensed attorney. Relentless triggers is not liable for any damages or loss of warranties to your firearm as a result of the installation and use of the Tac-Con 3MR trigger.

Is the Tac Con 3MR legal?

Is the Tac Con 3MR trigger legal to own? Yes.
The Tac-Con 3MR trigger is fully legal to own. The Tac-Con 3MR does not make your firearm a full-auto machine gun.

Tac con 3mr completely BATF legal! The ingenious design works by using the bolt carrier’s rearward inertia. The rearward motion pushes the trigger forward to achieve the short trigger reset, which shortens the distance required for your finger to travel to reset the trigger for a following shot.

To many, this may sound like full auto, but it is not. If you press and hold the trigger back, the rifle only fires a single round. With a fully automatic rifle such as the M4, that same action would, in fact, produce fully automatic fire and be regulated by the BATF. The Tac-Con 3MR trigger system does require your finger to move to fire another shot, but with a little practice, we can all shoot like Jerry Miculek—well OK, maybe not with Jerry’s accuracy, but at least the speed.

Installation of tac con 3mr

1.Prior to installing the 3MR, ensure all previous trigger components and
selector have been removed. To remove the selector, uninstall the grip and
remove the selector spring and detent. Use care to ensure you retain these
parts. The 3MR will “drop in” as shown

2.Allow the 3MR to drop in completely, making firm contact with the bottom
of the receiver. Verify proper fitment by visually confirming the hammer
and trigger pin holes align properly.

3.If you ordered an ambidextrous selector, choose your preferred
paddle sizes and configuration. Fasten one paddle then install
the selector assembly into the receiver. If you ordered a standard
selector, verify the paddle is secure and install. When installing
the selector, rotate the fore end of the trigger pack up to allow clearance.

4.Install the hammer and trigger pins from the right side of then receiver.
Replace the selector detent and spring then reinstall the grip.

5.With the grip installed, function check the trigger. If you assemble the
lower and upper receivers, exercise proper firearm safety procedures and
refer to the rifle owners manual during this process. Rotate the selector
into each mode and verify functionality, including the assisted reset in 3rd
mode, and ensure the trigger will not fire while on safe.

I have not had the chance to install a Tac Con 3MR trigger … yet.

However, it seems like a simple operation. You have to drop out your existing trigger and retain the original trigger pins.

Then, drop in the Tac-Con and re-insert the pins. Done.

As a note of caution—with any modification—be extra cautious.

Don’t be an idiot and drop a loaded mag in the gun until you are at the range with the weapon pointed in a safe direction.

There will be plenty of time to test your upgrade, but only in the proper place and time. Stay safe and shoot often!

TAC-CON 3MR overview:

The ability to empty a magazine is great in Zombie movies, but in real life, you only want to shoot

until there is no more need to shoot. Additional, unnecessary rounds just deplete your ammo and risks

hitting friendlies or innocents. After three mags the forearm gets too hot to hold without gloves.

High temperatures will increase wear on your gun and decrease reliability.

TAC-CON 3MR offers really fast multiple hits without sacrificing effective accuracy.

Using the Tac-Con 3MR, you can approach full auto speeds. More importantly,

the 3MR will let you shoot that fast with superb control. I was able to put as many rounds as

needed in a realistic target with consistent .14 splits, then transition smoothly to other targets and repeat as necessary.

The Tac-Con is quite useful for those who use the AR-15/M4 in competition, as either the standard semi-auto

or Third Mode trigger pull allows good shot placement, and the quick reset on the

Third Mode permits fast repeat shots with good trigger control in any type of timed shooting event.

The Tac-Con 3MR trigger comes packed in a container along with a pocket-sized copy of the BATFE letter approving it.

But when I opened the box, I couldn’t find any installation instructions.

When I checked with Tactical Fire Control, Inc., I was told that an instructional video will be up on their website soon.

My friend Ken Choate at C&S Metall-Werkes Ltd. works on AR-15s/M4s all the time,

so I decided to have him install the Tac-Con, especially since he wanted to examine

it in case customers asked him about it. I observed closely as he did the switch-out

of the trigger that was in my Colt and installed the Tac-Con. Here are a few hints based on what we learned:

First, it is necessary to remove the pistol grip to remove the spring and detent for the safety/selector for the standard trigger.

Second, the Tac-Con selector switch has to go in before the trigger assembly.

Third, pins for the Tac-Con should be inserted from the right side of the receiver with the grooves in front.

I had planned to take the Colt out to try the Tac-Con the next weekend,

but an ice storm turned the range I use into a skating rink. I finally got a chance to shoot the

Tac-Con the next weekend and found it worked quite well.

I began by using the semi-auto mode to get used to the 4.5-pound trigger pull. I’d rate it as good as

the triggers in a couple of custom ARs I shoot.

I then switched to the Third Mode and started a little slowly to get used to the trigger pull with the quick reset.

After a few rounds to get the feel of the trigger, I began firing five-round strings, then ten-round strings.

Once I got the rhythm of moving my finger quickly for each shot, I was firing pretty fast.

The steady stream of brass cascading from a full-auto carbine wasn’t there, but there

was a steady stream of empty brass in the air—five or more cases at a time.

In all, I fired about 200 rounds using the Tac-Con.

The only problem wasn’t with the trigger, but with the 60-round SureFire magazine I was using.

This magazine normally functions well even when held upside down and in full-auto weapons.

But on this occasion, the follower stuck and required taking the magazine apart to fix it.

I switched to 30-round magazines (with 28 rounds loaded) and kept firing.

The more I shot using the Third Mode, the better control I had of the trigger when operating it quickly.

I also found that when shooting at plates, I could move among them, double tapping each one very quickly and accurately.

The cost of ammo kept me from shooting even more, but based on the shooting I did with the

Tac-Con 3MR Trigger System, it works very well. It is an excellent aid to fast yet accurate shooting.

The quality of the Tac-Con seems high as well.

I recommend that anyone installing a Tac-Con 3MR trigger carry a copy of the

BATFE letter stating its legality with them, as the position of the selector for the

Third Mode would appear to anyone not aware of the Tac-Con as the position for full auto.
