Their brass is comprised of 70% copper and 30% zinc and is vertically drawn during

30-30 brass preparation

With bulk rifle brass you may sometimes notice a few case mouths are “out of round” or slightly dented below the shoulder.

These imperfections occur in the final tumbling wash operation after the case mouth has been annealed.

Brass manufacturers are aware of the case cosmetics and have worked to mitigate it,

but due to equipment design, denting may still occur.

Minor dents are normally removed in the first firing and will not affect case life or performance.

On non-plated brass, you may also notice all the anneal stain might not be polished off,

which may give the case neck a pinkish color.

With some smaller caliber cases you may notice the case mouths to be slightly belled.

With all new rifle brass, you should first straighten out the case and case mouth,

then chamfer and debur the case mouth inside and out.

To straighten the case mouth, run the case part way into the sizer die and let the expander ball straighten the brass.

To prevent the case neck from stretching, be sure to lubricate the case neck inside the case mouth.

If you are using Nickel plated brass, special care must be taken to lubricate the cases prior to sizing them.

Nickel plating is harder than brass and the cases require more effort in sizing.

In the event a case becomes stuck, purchase a stuck case remover; don’t use pliers, s

crewdrivers or other common household tools which could damage your sizing die.

why you need 30-30 brass

Our 30-30 brass is considered the “entry-class” for cartridges for big game hunting.

It’s a great option for a bear and deer-sized game.

Remember that most commercial loadings have an effective range of about 200 yards.

Diamond K Brass sells both once-fired brass. We tumble polish all of the once fired brass.

All of our brass is certified and tested to ensure the integrity of the brass is intact.

30-30 brass have tight wall concentricity

. Concentricity helps to ensure proper bullet seating in both the case and the chamber of your firearm.

Higher concentricity also aids in a uniform release of the bullet on firing, for optimal velocity and accuracy.

The cases have uniform wall thickness vital to accuracy.

Every single Hornady case, regardless of the lot in which it was produced, is virtually identical to other Hornady cases in the same caliber.

This means consistent pressures, velocity, and accuracy every time.

If you’re a fan of lever-action rifles and shotguns,

you might find that the venerable 30-30 Winchester brass is a caliber that’s perfect for you.

Introduced in 1895, the 30-30 is one of the most popular calibers in the world today,

and is beloved by hunters and sport shooters alike.

Whether you’re a seasoned marksman or just starting out,

the 30-30 can provide you with a reliable and powerful option for taking down game.

One of the most important components of any firearm is, of course, the brass.

The brass cartridge case serves as the container for the round,

and must be carefully designed and manufactured to ensure that the gun functions correctly.

When it comes to the 30-30 Winchester brass, the process of manufacturing is no exception.

There are numerous different brands of 30-30 brass available on the market today,

each with their own unique features and construction methods

. Some of the most popular brands include Winchester, Remington, Hornady, and Federal.

Each of these brands offers their own advantages, and it’s important to carefully consider your options before making a purchase.

One of the most important factors to consider when selecting 30-30 brass is the type of metal it’s made from.

Generally, most 30-30 brass is made from either brass or nickel-plated brass.

Brass, which is an alloy of copper and zinc,

is a popular choice due to its ability to withstand high pressure and maintain its shape after firing.

Nickel-plated brass, on the other hand, offers extra durability and resistance to corrosion.

Another important factor to consider is the weight of the

30-30 brass you choose. Generally speaking, heavier brass will be more durable and will typically offer longer service life

. However, there are some lighter weight options available that may be suitable for some applications.

When it comes to reloading 30-30 brass, there are some important steps to keep in mind.

First and foremost, it’s important to clean your brass thoroughly before reloading.

This can be done using specialized cleaning agents or by tumbling the brass in a cleaning solution.

Once your brass is clean, you’ll need to resize it in order to ensure that it will fit properly in your firearm.

This can be done using specialized resizing dies and presses.

Once the brass is resized, you’ll need to prime it and add a powder charge.

Finally, you’ll need to seat a bullet and crimp the case to ensure that it’s properly sealed.

In terms of performance, the 30-30 Winchester brass is a versatile and powerful

option that can be used for a wide variety of applications.

Whether you’re hunting big game in the woods or competing in a shooting competition,

the 30-30 has the accuracy and power you need to succeed.

Of course, no discussion of the 30-30 would be complete without talking about its storied history.

The 30-30 was one of the first cartridges to use smokeless powder, which was revolutionary at the time.

It quickly became one of the most popular cartridges in the world,

thanks in part to its use in the famous Winchester Model 94 lever-action rifle.

In conclusion, the 30-30 Winchester brass is a versatile and reliable option for anyone looking

to add a powerful and accurate cartridge to their arsenal.

Whether you’re a hunter or a sport shooter, the 30-30 has the power and performance you need to succeed.

Just be sure to carefully consider your options and choose a high-quality brand that meets your needs.

history of 30-30 brass

Introduced in early 1895 for the Winchester Model 1894 lever-action rifle,

the .30-30 was the USA’s first small-bore, sporting rifle cartridge designed for smokeless powder.

Jacketed bullets for the .30-30 are .308 inches in nominal diameter. C

ast lead bullets for the .30-30 are also popular and usually are .309 inches in diameter.

The 30-30 brass is considered to be the “entry-class” for modern big-game hunting cartridges.

While it is very effective on deer-sized and black bear-sized game, most commercial loadings are

limited in effective range to about 200 yd for that purpose, except when using ballistic-tip ammunition.

The cartridge is typically loaded with bullets weighing between 150 and 170 grains but lighter loads are possible.

Bullets of up to 180 gr can be used, but the overall length restrictions of the lever-action rifles most commonly

chambered for this round limit their usefulness.

Winchester .30-30 brass has been around since the late 1800s. It was the country’s first small-bore and sporting

rifle cartridge designed for smokeless powder.

  1. Vanammo

I purchased this for my Mossberg 464. The nickel plated brass arrived in a cardboard box loose but there were no damaged brass. This was a bulk order of 100 pieces and the nickel plating was exceptional except for 2 that had a light coat around the neck. The primer pockets are really tight on these. I mean really tight. I had to use my RCBS case prep reamer that you use on crimped military cartridges to make it easier to seat them. Better that than really loose primer pockets. I still had to use a good amount of pressure to seat them. If you plan to use a hand held Lee Primer press forget about that. I shot 30 loads using this brass and the accuracy was consistent and I had zero feeding issues in my rifle. It is good consistent brass and I highly recommend Starline.

  2. Vanammo

I know these are bulked packaged but, I payed this much for brass(nickel) because of the good quality Star is supposed to be. I was not very happy when majority of the brass had pressed in and dented necks/mouths and now I’m going to have to resize and check all these for consistently and other mor
